Woodford Webb, Chair
Woodford is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree in Business Administration/Commerce. He has an MBA from UK and a law degree from Northern Kentucky University - Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Woodford is the President of The Webb Companies, a commercial real estate management company that manages downtown/suburban office, retail/industrial properties. He is on several community boards: Downtown Lexington Corporation (2007 & 2008 President); Commerce Lexington (2009 Chair); Kentucky Lottery Corporation Board; Bluegrass Community Foundation; Triangle Foundation; Bluegrass Miracle League Advisory Board; Business Lexington Advisory Board; and Evergreen Rehabilitation Board.
Mark E. Nabity, Vice Chair
Mark is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, with a BS degree in Architecture. He is the President/CEO of Grayhawk, LLC, a commercial construction wall and ceiling subcontractor. He has served on the Living Arts & Science Center, Association of the Wall & Ceiling Industry, Foundation of the Wall & Ceiling Industry, AGC of Kentucky and the Bluegrass Chapter of CSI boards of directors. Mark also served as President of the Association of the Wall & Ceiling Industry and the Bluegrass Chapter of CSI.
Jen Shah, TREASURER
Jen has a BS in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. She is Associate Director of Tax Services with Dean Dorton Allen Ford, PLLC and has over twelve years of tax planning and compliance experience with individuals and businesses in various industries. She is a member of American Institute of CPAs, Kentucky Society of CPAs and Kentucky World Trade Center. Her community involvement includes Leadership Lexington Class of 2006 - 2007; Member, Kentucky Equine Education Project; Lifetime Member, University of Kentucky Alumni Association; Member, Lexington Art League; Treasurer/Board Member, Women Leading Kentucky; and Treasurer/Board Member, Friends of the Art Museum at the University of Kentucky.
Eric Frankl, Secretary
Eric has a BS in Aviation Management from Bowling Green State University and his professional accreditation from the American Association of Airport Executives. He is the new Executive Director of Lexington Blue Grass Airport. He has worked in the airport industry for over twenty years serving as President of the Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives in 2004/2005. Prior to his appointment at Blue Grass Airport, Eric served as the Executive Director at the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority in Toledo, Ohio and Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield, Illinois. He also served as the Director of Operations at Fort Wayne International Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Gretchen M. Brown, President/CEO
Gretchen has been the President/CEO of HOB since 1982. She just finished a two-year term as Chair of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and is currently serving as the Past Chair. She also serves on the Board of the Foundation for Hospices in Sub Saharan Africa (FHSSA). Ms. Brown is the past Chair of the National Hospice Work Group, a "think tank" composed of leaders from around the U.S. considered to be among the most influential authorities on end-of-life care in this country. Locally, she serves on the UK College of Public Health, External Advisory Council. Ms. Brown received her BA and MSW from UK. She has taught in the UK College of Social Work and presently serves as adjunct faculty in the UK College of Health Sciences.
Laura Tanno Boison, Past Chair
Laura has a bachelor's degree and an MBA from the University of Kentucky. She is employed with USBank as Commercial Team Lead for Central and North East Kentucky market. Her community involvement includes board roles for Hospice, Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, Women Leading Kentucky, Commerce Lexington, and Wildcat Tennis.
Shannon Bishop Arvin
Shannon has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and a law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She is an attorney with Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC. Shannon is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and is a board member for the Kentucky Equine Humane Center, Inc.
Melba S. Bjornson
Melba has a bachelor's and MBA from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She is also a graduate of the Executive Development Program, Indiana University, Bloomington. She worked with Ashland, Inc. for 30 years most recently as the director of corporate analysis. Retired in 2007, Melba is very active in the community with Hospice of the Bluegrass-NKY Advisory Board, Hospice of the Bluegrass - 2009 NKY Gala Committee co-chair and Brighton Center Board of Directors (a family service agency in Northern Kentucky). She is a former board member for the Ashland Inc. Employees Credit Union (Credit Committee, Secretary and Treasurer) and a pro bono small business consultant for Junior Achievement.
Bruce Brooks
Bruce attended Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky State University and the University of Maryland. A native of Frankfort, he is a retired banker from Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Company. He is involved in several professional organizations including the Farmers Bank Board, United Bank Board, the Leasing One Corp. Board and the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority Board. He is currently Chair of the Hospice of the Bluegrass – Frankfort Capital Campaign and serves on the Frankfort Advisory Board. His other community involvement includes being President of Two Creeks Property Owners Association, serving on the KSU Aquaculture Advisory Board, being a director on the Blue Grass Mental Health – Mental Retardation Board and serving on the Finance Committee for Elkhorn Church.
Betsy Clemons
Betsy Clemons has a BBA in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University. She is the Executive Director of the Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Hazard Independent College Foundation Board and serves on the Greater Hazard Area Performing Arts Executive Council and Advisory Board. She is the Hazard City Schools Family Resource Chair, the Hazard City Schools Educational Endowment Chair and serves on the Housing Development Alliance Board. Her volunteer work includes Christmas for Charity, Community Ministries, Hazard City Schools and the First Baptist Church of Hazard. She is also very involved with Citizens Helping Inspire Children to Keep Straight (CHICKS) a committee that provides safe/drug free activities for kids and families in Hazard and Perry County.
Jack Cunningham
Jack has a BA and JD from the University of Kentucky. He is a Member of Frost Brown Todd LLC. He practices primarily in the areas of Probate, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Trust Investment Management, and Tax Exempt Organizations in the Lexington office. Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd LLC, Jack spent 19 years managing the largest trust bank in the Lexington market. He is Treasurer of the Fayette County Bar Foundation and Chairman of the Foundation's Investment Committee. Other community involvement includes Former Vice President and Member of Executive Committee of the Blue Grass Community Foundation; President of the Kentucky Civil War Roundtable; and former member of Executive Committee and General Counsel (2004) of Commerce Lexington.
Terri Fryman
Terri has a BBA from the University of Kentucky and certified as a Grief Recovery Specialist through The Grief Recovery Institute. She is a Specialist in Outreach for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America. Her volunteer work includes Blue Star Mothers (support the Troops), Adopt-a-Family, and Junior Achievement; she also attends Southland Christian Church. She is a past board member for the Lexington Arts and Culture Council (LACC) and a former president of University of Kentucky Young Alumni.
Rob Hardy
Rob received a bachelor's degree in economics from Duke University where he was also a member of the men's basketball team. He earned a law degree from the University of Louisville School and a LLM Taxation from the Georgetown University School. He serves as Vice President & General Counsel of Investors Heritage Capital Corporation and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of each company. Rob served as the President of the National Alliance of Life Companies from December 2002 until April 2005. He is also very active in his community and has served on various community related boards including: Kentucky Bar Foundation, Capital Day School, the Frankfort YMCA and Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Tonya Jackson
Tonya has a bachelor's degree from Hampton University in Chemistry. She is also a graduate of Vassar College with a master's degree in Chemistry. Tonya is the director of sustainable technology and operations for Lexmark International, Inc. She is responsible for laboratory operations and environmental sustainability initiatives. Tonya is a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and serves on its Parish Council. She is a member of the Urban League of Lexington - Fayette County (1st Vice-Chairperson - 2011) and a member of the PTSA at Bryan Station High School.
Randy LeMay
Randy is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Administration/Finance. He is the Chief Financial Officer for the Lexington Clinic. In addition to volunteer work with Hospice of the Bluegrass, he also serves as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair on the Board of the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross.
J.D. Miller
J. D. has a degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He currently serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for ARH. He is a fellow for the American College of Physicians and is a board member for the Southeast Community Foundation.
Mark Miller
Mark is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a J.D. from the UK College of Law. He practices law in Nicholasville. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He is involved in Nicholasville Now and is a member of the Jessamine County Hospice Charities Board.
John B. Milward
John has a BA from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He is the Managing Director at Powell-Walton-Milward, a division of J. Smith Lanier & Co. His community involvement includes being a board member for Sayre School, University of the South, St. Joseph Hospital, Children Advocacy Center (Past President), Lexington Humane Society, the Bluegrass Community Foundation and The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center (Past President). He is a member of Christ Church Episcopal, Keeneland Club, The Lexington Club, Idle Hour Country Club, Thoroughbred Club of America and the Triangle Foundation.
John H. Rasnick
John is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is the co-founder of Summit Engineering, Inc., a civil, mining, and architectural engineering firm with offices in Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia. He has developed several residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Central and Eastern Kentucky, Virginia, and Florida. His mineral holding companies, Rockhouse Oil & Gas and Kennesaw Land Company, own and lease extensive coal, oil, and gas properties in Kentucky and Virginia. John is a member of the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers. He is involved with Big Brothers, Habitat for Humanity and Crossroads Christian Church.
Susan H. Stempel
Susan has an undergraduate and master's in Communication from the University of Kentucky. She retired from UK as director of communications & advancement where she founded ODYSSEY Magazine and directed communication/public relations activities related to research and graduate education. Her past professional activities include the CASE Board, National University Research Magazine Association Co-Director, UK Women's Forum Chair, International Business Communications Board, speaking tour in Southeast Asia, producing/directing multimedia productions and producing/hosting numerous cable television and radio shows on research. Community activities included Spindletop Hall Board; LFUCG Architectural Review Board and Lexington Children's Theatre Board.
George E. Wallace
George has a BBA in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Kentucky. He is currently the Senior Vice President – City Executive for BB&T in Lexington. George is involved in several community organizations including the Young Life and Crestwood Christian Church.
